Shapelets are basically silly bands where you can create your own shape. Very cool idea that I was lucky enough to get to do the packaging for. If you have kids, or if you’re just a big kid inside, then you have to get a Shapelets kit. Tons o’ fun!

Sustain is local goodness.:

In a nutshell, Sustain finds local awesome food growers, slaps a label on the jar, bag, box, etc., and puts it in your grocery store. What ever Sustain product you are buying is grown or produced from within 300 miles of store where you’re purchasing. Right now they are in Ohio and upper New York state, however they are looking to expand nationally. Why didn’t I come up with this idea!? FYI… the Amish jelly is amazing. I could go on and on about them but it would be best for you just to check out their website for more info. Yummo.

We just knew him as an intelligent, short, smart ass kid who could skateboard really damn well. Rob Dyrdek circa 1990. That’s me in the back, sitting on the stairs wearing the white & black striped shirt. A sprained ankle meant no skating for me that day. I skated with Rob a few times and use to watch him skate in the back of Surf Ohio on the mini-ramp in the late 1980’s and early 90’s. He was amazingly talented. People use to say how intelligent he was and apparently they were right. He went on to be not only a pro skateboarder but to be an incredible business man. He also was in Rob & Big on Mtv and is also the guy from Mtv’s Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory. Congrats to him on all his success and a big thanks to him for donating all the money to build an amazing concrete skate park in Kettering, Ohio.

Wish I could’ve caught Phish at Riverbend this past Sunday. No pun intended. Great to see them having fun again and sounding better than ever. This is a clip from the epic You Enjoy Myself (YEM) complete with trampolines, crazy bass action (at 10 min mark) and weird vocal jam ending. This is how music should be played. The band makes music every night and sometimes it’s not so amazing but when it is amazing, it’s unbelievable. Who wants to hear record tracks rehashed lick for lick live? I love that these guys just go off on a tangent and jam. That’s making music.

Chaka mad? Chaka real mad. Clip of Kevin Smith about his conversation with Prince. Not sure why I find this funny but it always makes me laugh. The whole story Kevin tells about his visit to film Prince, is absolutely hilarious. Prince is a real weirdo & Kevin, who is a massive Prince fan, doesn’t hold back about the just how damn weird Prince is. My friend, Charity, took this photo over the weekend. She went to a barbeque party at a guy’s house (wearing plaid shirt) and the guy taught her son and the other kid how to do the classic “spit-take”. Yeah, that’s Quentin Tarantino hanging out with the kids. How cool is that? I’ve always thought he seemed like a real ass but she said he was amazing. He even wore the pink plaid shirt to match her pink hair. I’m glad he’s not an ass because I dig his work.
